A war for survival in a future
that should not exist...

“Something’s wrong here.”

“Yeah. I feel it, too,” Jak said, a concealed knife dropping into his hand from his sleeve.

“Better stay in the mat-trans,” Ryan said. “If we come back with a droid on us, we’ll need backup.”

Turning away, he saw that J.B. was already at the oval hatch, looking for traps.

“Clear,” the Armorer reported.

“Okay, friends, triple red.” SIG-Sauer at the ready, the one-eyed man pressed down the lever and the hatch swung open silently. Then with a snarl, Ryan instantly stepped backward, dropping into a crouch.

In the next room, several men in Navy uniforms operated the controls of the humming comps….

A  Mexican drug dealer sends a deadly message to the U.S.

The second armed Jeep swept into view

The man behind the machine gun hadn’t known what to expect, but it most certainly wasn’t to have a friendly gun turned on him. Bolan raked the Jeep from front to back, bullets punching into the hood and windshield. The driver jerked back, his chest and head pulverized by the continuous blast of automatic fire.

The Jeep swerved and ran on for yards before the engine stalled and it rattled to a stop. The Executioner hammered at it until the gas tank’s contents caught a spark and erupted in a boiling surge of flame.

The surviving traffickers had begun to pull themselves together for a concerted rush at Bolan’s vehicle, but the Executioner swung the barrel of his weapon back on line and inflicted more damage. Under his relentless fire, the men went down hard, bodies bloodied and torn.

Bolan’s finger released the trigger and the chatterof the machine gun ceased. All that remained was the moaning of the wounded. The dead held their peace.

The Executioner knew the clock was ticking. Though the numbers were still falling, he knew without a shadow of doubt there would be others.

How long he might hold them back was anyone’s guess.

The rules governing earth's reality are about to be broken...
He reached out before him, spreading the six fingers of each hand as if to stave off something that was attacking, and a gasp of breath came from his open mouth.

“Wha’ is it?” the child asked, peering up from the daisy chain she had been making on the little expanse of lawn before Balam’s dwelling.

Balam looked at the child with those strange, fathomless eyes, and wondered if she might recognize the fear on his face, the fear that had threatened for just a moment to overwhelm him.

The child smiled at him, chuckling a little in that strange, deep way that human children will.

“Uncle Bal-bal?” she asked. “Wha’ is it?”

“The Ontic Library has been breached,” Balam said, his words heavy with meaning, fully aware that the child could never comprehend the gravity of them. “Pack some toys, Quav. We’re going to visit some old friends.”

It had been almost three years since Balam had last spoken with the Cerberus rebels, but the time had come to do so once again.

A sunken treasure yields unfathomable terror...

“If I’d rejected Garin, I know for certain I would be dead now.”

“Garin became your sword then,” Annja said.

“That’s one way of looking at it, I guess. He came along at just the right moment, much like the sword did with you. I guess that’s one of the great mysteries of life, how things seem to happen at just the right moment.”

“No coincidences,” Annja said. “That’s too easy an explanation. And I’ve seen enough to not believe in coincidence anymore.”

“It does seem to be the crutch for the unimaginative.” Sheila smiled. “Garin told me you
were something else.”

Annja smirked. “That’s only because he’s been trying to seduce me for years.”

“There aren’t many who can resist him,” Sheila said.

“I never claimed it was easy,” Annja replied with a laugh.

“You’re honest,” Sheila said. “I appreciate that.”

“So the question now seems to be how do we deal with the shark terrorizing this boat and who would dive?”

“You’re going to have to deal with it, Annja. You’re going to have to kill the shark so we can get to the treasure.”

A powerful enemy masterminds a new wave of global terror...

STONY MAN WAS POISED, PREPPED FOR WAR

Hal Brognola stood at the back of the room,
well-chewed but unlit cigar clamped between
locked teeth as he surveyed the Farm’s operations
center. Against the wall at the front of the room
television screens flickered with images. One
screen offered an overview of the island from the
Farm’s dedicated Keyhole satellite. On another
screen was the feed from the nose camera
mounted in Jack Grimaldi’s Comanche attack
helicopter. Two additional screens were linked to
similar camera systems in the Predator drones
controlled by Carmen Delahunt and Akira Tokaido
at their respective workstations. The UAVs were
outfitted with Hellfire missiles for the engagement.

The screen featuring a topographical map of
the island was controlled by Hunt Wethers and
showed the individual operators of both Phoenix
Force and Able Team in icon form, allowing the
Farm to visually follow their progress as the
assault unfolded.

Barbara Price stalked back and forth in front of
the screens, working her sat-com headset to
coordinate last-minute logistical needs. Above her
head a digital clock counted down to H-hour.

Rogue Angel # 26, The Dragon's Mark
For everything light, there is something dark...

There was one more attacker

Annja whirled, expecting her final opponent to be
closing the distance between them while her attention
was elsewhere.

But that wasn’t the case. The other man hadn’t moved.

He stood watching her, hands held behind his back,
like an instructor evaluating her performance.

“Who are you and what do you want?” Annja asked,
and was surprised at the depth of anger she heard in
her voice.

Her opponent said nothing.

“I’ll give you one last—”

She never finished the sentence.

One second her opponent was standing in front
of her with both hands behind his back, and in the
next he was leaping forward, a Japanese long sword
suddenly appearing in his hands.

Annja just barely managed to deflect the strike as she
brought her own sword up.

Where the hell had that sword come from?

It was almost as if he’d conjured the thing out of
thin air….
