IDW's Rogue Angel #1 Hits Stores Today!

The first issue of Rogue Angel's comic book is available at comic and specialty stores today!

From IDW's press release:
Annja is an intelligent, sassy and sexy heroine who explores the mysteries of the past while living her very own present adventure. "She's one of those understated superstars who doesn't realize what an impression she makes on other people," says Rogue Angel writer Barbara Randall Kesel. "Since her love is archaeology, she's used to thinking of herself as the new kid in a world of elderly experts. Her past makes her especially guarded around other people, and she's more inclined to take point than to trust someone else to keep her safe. And while she's gained fame from her role on [fictional TV-show] Chasing History's Monsters, she's continually outshined by her costar-so she stays humble."

In the Rogue Angel: Teller Of Tall Tales five-issue miniseries, Annja's all-new adventure revolves around her drive to explore an unrecorded, shadowy history, which leads her to Virginia City in search of a rumored manuscript that could change the public perception of Mark Twain forever. Central to the story is a new character, Rashmi, who is from India and has a love of Mark Twain. "I loved the idea of someone from an entirely different culture falling in love with America's past," says Kesel. "It's a great brain-twister to think of 'us' as foreign and exotic."

Rogue Angel: Teller Of Tall Tales is scripted by Kesel (Hellboy: Seed of Destruction), who is a Harvey Award-winning writer and editor, a comics award that is presented to comic book professionals by comic book professionals; illustrated by Renae De Liz (Nightmare World); and inked and colored by Ray Dillon (Noble Causes). Rebecca A. Wrigley (Disney Feature Animation) will provide covers for the series, and the debut issue will also feature a variant cover by Rogue Angel novel cover artist Tim Bradstreet (Punisher).
